Jan DeMotta is our Business Manager and brings over 20 years of chiropractic office experience to Shepard Family Chiropractic. Jan says that: “I have been in this chiropractic business a long time, and have never seen so many adults as well as children achieve such great healing as they’ve done with Dr. Shepard. He not only has an innate sense about each patient’s condition, he truly cares and sees each of them as a unique person. He puts focused effort in to each adjustment and I believe he is truly blessed with healing talent. Dr. Shepard will always be mine and my family’s chiropractor!”
Jan is married to Rob, owner of Cleo Bay Honda and they have two sons Brandon and Chad. She has a strong belief in chiropractic and how it has changed hers and her family’s health and lives. Jan is a huge advocate of the importance of routine chiropractic care in every child’s life. Her sons had challenges with scoliosis, attention deficit disorder, chronic ear and respiratory infections, and allergies before she discovered chiropractic. They both had excessive school absences due to illnesses prior to beginning their chiropractic care. By continuing regular care through their lives, they rarely became ill due to their boosted immunes systems, and grew to be healthy, well adjusted adults. Jan and her husband also firmly believe they can contribute their good health and lack of pain to regular chiropractic adjustments.

Stephanie Abbott is our office manager and was born and raised in Georgetown, TX. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Gary, and has a beautiful daughter named Avery Dean along with a feisty Yorkshire terrier named Cody.
She came to Shepard Family Chiropractic after the birth of her daughter to wrangle insurance companies and handle all of your billing needs. She had previously worked in medical offices handling insurance claims and questions, so the transition to this well maintained office was a breeze. She was a chronic sufferer of migraines, and low back pain. Her many years in the medical field were unable to help her, so the thought of chiropractic was a welcomed approach. Because chiropractic treatments were making her feel better than she had in years, she turned her husband on to the idea for his increasing shoulder pain. Through adjustments and exercises he too began to feel better. Avery her daughter suffered from colic, constipation and reflux from the day she was born, with no relief from medications prescribed by her pediatrician. Therefore after consulting with Dr. Shepard, she brought Avery in when she was 6 months old for her first adjustment. After a few visits Dr. Shepard was able to get Avery’s adjustments to hold. She is currently on a maintenance schedule, and symptom free!

This is Christina’s first time working in a chiropractic office and her position is as front desk where among other things, she greets people, answers phones, and is in charge of the appointment book. She absolutely loves working here at Shepard Family Chiropractic! She is definitely a people person who loves to entertain, and the patients and staff here are so friendly that it makes her job a pleasure.
Christina informed Dr. Shepard that she suffered from one of the many joys of Texas, horrendous cedar allergies. To her surprise and delight, within the first few weeks of getting adjustments her allergies were gone! Her son is under care for leg spasms and nausea and after his second adjustment he seemed like a brand new kid! The exceptional care and concern of this office has made her a firm believer in Chiropractic and the freedom it has brought to her and her son Cameron.

Sarah assists Dr. Shepard by greeting patients, escorting them back to the adjusting room, and applying therapies that the patient needs in order to facilitate their recovery. Sara says that: “Although my journey through chiropractic care has just begun these past few years, I have seen the changes in myself as well as changes in how it has affected others. The most surprising is the immediate effect it has had on my headaches-after being adjusted just once it was relieved. In observing others, I have seen the look on someone's face who has had years of pain and hardship, and after only one adjustment they received relief. Watching someone stand up and being able to walk with out that catch in their hip, or that crick in their neck is a pretty neat thing. I have heard so many people talk about how chiropractic care is the backbone (ha-ha) to their life, and how without it, their body would feel very different.” Dr. Shepard also has a great ability to communicate the life style changes that the patient needs to understand in order to really live a life of Wellness.
Sara looks forward to continuing her chiropractic journey at this office and feels lucky to be under the care of Dr. Shepard who has such integrity, skill, and a genuine concern for a patient’s well-being.
